YB Dato Seri Paduka Dr. Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah
Dato Dr Amin was appointed as a Member of the Supervisory Council and Chairman of the Board of Darussalam Assets on 30 January 2018.
In addition to his role as Minister of Finance II, Dato Dr Amin concurrently serves as Chairman and member on the boards of numerous Government statutory bodies and Government-linked companies including telecommunication, healthcare, hospitality, aviation, education, and oil and gas. Prior to his appointment as Minister of Finance II, Dato Dr Amin was the Deputy Minister of Finance (Investment), as well as Chief Executive Officer of Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd.
Prior to joining Darussalam Assets in 2014, Dato Dr Amin was the CEO of a private-equity firm based in Singapore, following a 14-year career in the Brunei Government, holding various key positions including Managing Director of the Brunei Investment Agency and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.
Dato Dr Amin graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (First Class) in Computer Science and Statistics from Queen Mary College, University of London (1984). He also holds a Master’s degree in Management (1989) and a PhD in Corporate Finance (1993) from Imperial College, University of London and a professional qualification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) (2004). He is also a member of CFA Singapore.
YB Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman
Dato Haji Hamzah was appointed as a Member of the Supervisory Council of Darussalam Assets on 30 January 2018, and a Director of the Board of Directors of Darussalam Assets since 12 December 2014.
Dato Haji Hamzah is Minister of Education.
Dato Haji Hamzah began his career in Government service in 1991. He was a member of the Faculty of Business, Economic and Policy Studies, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). While at UBD, he served as Head of Department of Public Policy and Administration and the inaugural Head of the Institute of Policy Studies. Subsequently, he served in a number of posts at the Ministry of Defence as well as the Ministry of Finance. He was the inaugural Director of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies and was later appointed as Deputy Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development) at the Ministry of Defence. At Ministry of Finance, he was responsible for economic research and managing relations between Brunei Darussalam and a number of international organizations such as ASEAN, ASEAN + 3, APEC, IMF, World Bank, Islamic Development Bank and Asian Development Bank.
Dato Haji Hamzah graduated with a Bachelor’s (Hons) degree in Public Policy and Administration from Universiti Brunei Darussalam and a Master’s degree in Political Science from State University of New York, USA.
YM Dato Paduka Awang Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman
Dato Ahmaddin was appointed as a Director of Darussalam Assets on 4 November 2015.
Dato Ahmaddin is the Deputy Minister of Finance. Dato Ahmaddin also concurrently serves as Chairman and member on the boards of numerous Government statutory bodies and Government-linked companies. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Minister of Finance, Dato Ahmaddin was the Permanent Secretary (Policy & Investment), as well as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd.
Dato Ahmaddin started his career in Government service in 1996 and has served in various capacities at the Ministry of Finance including Permanent Secretary (Policy), Permanent Secretary (Performance), Acting Accountant General and Director of Administration Section. Dato Ahmaddin has also served in several posts in other Government departments including the Royal Customs and Excise Department, the Public Service Department and the Immigration & National Registration Department.
Dato Ahmaddin holds a BA degree (Hons) in Management Studies from the Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
YM Dr. Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin
Dr. Awang Haji Abdul Manaf was appointed as a Director of Darussalam Assets on 30 January 2018.
Dr. Awang Haji Abdul Manaf is the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources & Tourism.
Dr. Awang Haji Abdul Manaf started his career in Government service in 1990 and has served in various capacities in the Ministry of Primary Resources & Tourism, as well as the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has also held a number of important posts at Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Brunei Economic Development Board.
Dr. Awang Haji Abdul Manaf graduated with a BEng (Honours) degree (1989) in Mechanical Engineering from University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and an MSc degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom. He also holds a PhD in Management from Canterbury Business School, University of Kent, United Kingdom.
YM Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah
Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi was appointed as a Director of Darussalam Assets in March 2017.
Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi is the Permanent Secretary (Industry) of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Before joining the Government, Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi served for 22 years with distinction as an executive in Brunei Shell Petroleum, in Brunei and overseas. Since joining the Energy Department of the Prime Minister’s Office in 2013, Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi was responsible for the promotion of local business development by the EPDMO and has served as a Board member of a number of Government-linked Companies and other companies and as a participant in key government committees and working groups.
Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi graduated from the University of Surrey with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Process Engineering.
YM Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid
Awang Haji Khairuddin was appointed a Director of Darussalam Assets in March 2017, and as Acting Chief Executive Officer of Darussalam Assets on 1 April 2018.
Awang Haji Khairuddin is the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Investment) of the Ministry of Finance and concurrently the Managing Director of the Retirement Fund and Fiscal Stabilization Fund of the Investment Division of the Ministry of Finance.
Awang Haji Khairuddin began his career in government service in 1989 with the Brunei Investment Agency, serving in various leadership positions in Brunei and overseas, including London and Boston. Between 2014 and 2016, Awang Haji Khairuddin was appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources. In addition to primary roles, Awang Haji Khairuddin serves as a director on a number of GLC boards.
Awang Haji Khairuddin graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Management Studies from Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
