A significant milestone for RBC

The construction of Royal Brunei Catering Sdn Bhd’s (RBC) centralised project and production facility is a significant milestone for the company. RBC has grown to become one of Brunei’s largest food and beverage producers and the new facility will provide the best environment for its team to develop and bring the best in culinary experiences to Brunei, said General Manager of RBC Haji Jeff Hadiman bin Dato Paduka Haji Danial.

He made these comments during the groundbreaking ceremony to officiate the start of construction of the new facility comprising RBC’s new Corporate Office and Central Kitchen on a two-hectare plot at Lambak Kanan West Industrial Site yesterday.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the official groundbreaking event and Doa Selamat.

Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) and Chairman of the RBC Board of Directors Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin was the guest of honour.

Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Berakas ‘B’ Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon, Permanent Secretary (Investment) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy and CEO of Darussalam Assets Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Chairman of RBC Board of Directors Haji Sofian bin Haji Mohd Jani, Director of RBC Ainadin Cader, Director of RBC Dayangku Hajah Dewi Sarwani binti Pengiran Haji Sarpuddin, Acting Village Head of Kampong Lambak Kanan and members of Darussalam Assets and RBC management were also present.

RBC aims to build Brunei’s largest state-of-the-art Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certified production kitchen.

It will consolidate RBC’s operations under one roof which is expected to increase its operational efficiencies and production capacity.

It is also expected to elevate its domestic and international competitiveness as well as support the development of small and medium enterprises.

“RBC’s new facility will support continued growth and development by keeping up to pace with our clients’ needs, allowing us to provide value-added and higher quality service,” added Aircraft Catering Manager at RBC Alvin Voon.

The Central Kitchen will be able to accommodate the over 400 employees.

The facility is expected to begin operation in mid-2020 with the company centralising its kitchen operations for airlines, healthcare, special events as well as retail services.

RBC, Brunei’s leading provider of premium catering services and food solutions in the country, is a wholly owned and operated subsidiary of Darussalam Assets.
