DST launches new Prima plans

DST announced that it will offer customers 4G Prima postpaid plans for as low as BND20 inclusive of SMS, voice and data bundles as well as unlimited 4G Prima postpaid plans starting as low as BND85 per month.

The announcement was made yesterday night in the presence of members of the media who also witnessed the official launching of the new DST offerings at Avenue 41, Bangunan Suasa Kiarong which was officiated by Dona Eldeyana binti Johan, the telecom major’s Senior Manager of Group Marketing.

Also present at the event were Haji Marsad bin Haji Ismail, Deputy CEO of DST; Rosniah binti Haji Karia, Senior Manager of Consumer Market and DST’s senior management and staff.

At the event, DST also announced the new Prima Student Plan at BND25 per month which is open for students in higher institutions in Brunei aged 18-25 years.

One of the highlights of the new 4G Prima postpaid plans is the data bundles that have been revised and upgraded, allowing customers to surf more at low monthly prices as well as giving them the option to double their data by opting for a 12-month contract.

Of this contract bundles, the BND55 plan can be doubled from 7.5GB to 15GB; the BND85 unlimited plan from 20GB to 40GB and the BND105 unlimited plan from 50GB to 100GB, and these plans must be renewed each month during the contract period.

DST has also revised the 4G Prima postpaid contract plan bundles for iPhone and Samsung offered at DST branches and DSTIncomm Stores, with the BND35 plan data bundle upgraded to 6GB; the BND55 plan data bundle upgraded to 15GB and BND85 plan data bundle upgraded to 40GB monthly.

DST has also been upgrading its existing Prima postpaid customers to the upgraded bundles automatically in phases since May 1, and to date, a portion of customers may have noticed that their data bundles have been automatically upgraded and the remaining customers will enjoy the bundle upgrades within the next few weeks, according to the company.

Meanwhile, existing Prima postpaid customers can still voluntary opt to upgrade their plans to a higher rental or commit to contract for 12 months by visiting any DST counter.

In her welcoming remarks, Dona Eldeyana explained the refresher as a business initiative largely in response to consumer demand in data consumption, especially for Brunei’s unique market.

“The implementation of new technologies came with the ever-changing patterns of consumption of our customers who are much more information-driven and tech savvy,” she said.

She further pointed out that with the exposure of information and availability of mobile and multi-media technologies, Bruneians are more aware about and demanding the types of communications that suit to their lifestyle.

The ‘Prima Lucky Draw’, which is ongoing as part of DST’s 23rd anniversary activities and the launch of the refreshed 4G Prima postpaid plans will be concluded on July 13, she informed.

In this draw, new and existing customers who register, upgrade plans or commit to a contract plan stand a chance of winning the grand prize of BND5,000.
