Dato Dr Amin was appointed as a Member of the Supervisory Council and Chairman of the Board of Darussalam Assets on 30 January 2018.
In addition to his role as Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II, Dato Dr Amin concurrently serves as Chairman and member on the boards of numerous Government statutory bodies and Government-linked companies including telecommunication, healthcare, hospitality, aviation, education, and oil and gas. Prior to his appointment as Minister of Finance II, Dato Dr Amin was the Deputy Minister of Finance (Investment), as well as Chief Executive Officer of Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd.
Prior to joining Darussalam Assets in 2014, Dato Dr Amin was the CEO of a private-equity firm based in Singapore, following a 14-year career in the Brunei Government, holding various key positions including Managing Director of the Brunei Investment Agency and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.
Dato Dr Amin graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (First Class) in Computer Science and Statistics from Queen Mary College, University of London (1984). He also holds a Master’s degree in Management (1989) and a PhD in Corporate Finance (1993) from Imperial College, University of London and a professional qualification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) (2004). He is also a member of CFA Singapore.
Dato Haji Hamzah was appointed as a Member of the Supervisory Council of Darussalam Assets on 30 January 2018, and a Director of the Board of Directors of Darussalam Assets since 12 December 2014.
Dato Haji Hamzah is Minister of Education.
Dato Haji Hamzah began his career in Government service in 1991. He was a member of the Faculty of Business, Economic and Policy Studies, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). While at UBD, he served as Head of Department of Public Policy and Administration and the inaugural Head of the Institute of Policy Studies. Subsequently, he served in a number of posts at the Ministry of Defence as well as the Ministry of Finance. He was the inaugural Director of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies and was later appointed as Deputy Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development) at the Ministry of Defence. At Ministry of Finance, he was responsible for economic research and managing relations between Brunei Darussalam and a number of international organizations such as ASEAN, ASEAN + 3, APEC, IMF, World Bank, Islamic Development Bank and Asian Development Bank.
Dato Haji Hamzah graduated with a Bachelor’s (Hons) degree in Public Policy and Administration from Universiti Brunei Darussalam and a Master’s degree in Political Science from State University of New York, USA.
Dato Abdul Mutalib was appointed as Director of Darussalam Assets on 30 January 2020.
Dato Abdul Mutalib is the Minister of Transport and Infocommunications. Prior to this, Dato Abdul Mutalib has held several positions, including Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs (August 2016 – January 2018), Permanent Secretary (Media and Cabinet) at the Prime Minister’s Office (November 2015 – August 2016), Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications (April 2013 – November 2015), Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Communications, respectively from 2008 to 2013. He has also held executive positions in the corporate sector from 2003 to 2007.
Dato Abdul Mutalib holds a Master of International Business (Economics and Commerce) from the University of Melbourne, Australia (2003). Dato Abdul Mutalib graduated with a BA (Hons) in Management Studies from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (1995). A Member of the Australian Institute of Management (AIMM, Aus) since 2003, Dato Abdul Mutalib has also attended short courses under fellowship, such as ‘Leaders in Governance Program’ at the Civil Service College, Singapore (August 2019); an Executive Program on ‘Economic Growth’ at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government USA (February 2013); and the ‘21st Century Partnership Invitation Leadership Program’ in Japan (January 2011).
Dato Ahmaddin was appointed as a Director of Darussalam Assets on 4 November 2015.
Dato Ahmaddin is the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal), at the Ministry of Finance and Economy. Dato Ahmaddin also concurrently serves as Chairman and member on the boards of numerous Government statutory bodies and Government-linked companies. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Minister of Finance, Dato Ahmaddin was the Permanent Secretary (Policy & Investment), as well as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd.
Dato Ahmaddin started his career in Government service in 1996 and has served in various capacities at the Ministry of Finance including Permanent Secretary (Policy), Permanent Secretary (Performance), Acting Accountant General and Director of Administration Section. Dato Ahmaddin has also served in several posts in other Government departments including the Royal Customs and Excise Department, the Public Service Department and the Immigration & National Registration Department.
Dato Ahmaddin holds a BA degree (Hons) in Management Studies from the Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Dato Dr. Manaf was appointed as a Director of Darussalam Assets on 30 January 2018.
Dato Dr. Manaf is the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy), at the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
Dato Dr. Manaf started his career in Government service in 1990 and has served in various capacities in the Ministry of Primary Resources & Tourism, as well as the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has also held a number of important posts at Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Brunei Economic Development Board.
Dato Dr. Manaf graduated with a BEng (Honours) degree (1989) in Mechanical Engineering from University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and an MSc degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom. He also holds a PhD in Management from Canterbury Business School, University of Kent, United Kingdom.
Dato Marzuke was appointed as Director of Darussalam Assets on 30 January 2020.
Dato Marzuke is the Deputy Minister of Development.
Dato Marzuke began his career in Government service in July 1985, as Architect and has held various posts within the Public Works Department, including his appointment as the Director of Housing Development Department, Director General of Public Works Department and various leadership positions. He also served as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Development, prior to his appointment as Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Development.
Dato Marzuke is registered as Architect with the Board of Architects, Professional Engineers and Quantity Surveryors (BAPEQS), Brunei Darussalam, a fellow Member of Pertubuhan Ukur, Jurutera dan Aktiek Brunei (PUJA) and Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
Dato Marzuke graduated with a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Awang Haji Khairuddin was appointed a Director of Darussalam Assets in March 2017, and as Chief Executive Officer of Darussalam Assets on 1 April 2018.
Awang Haji Khairuddin is the Permanent Secretary (Investment), at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, and concurrently the Managing Director of the Retirement Fund and Fiscal Stabilization Fund of the Investment Division of the Ministry of Finance.
Awang Haji Khairuddin began his career in government service in 1989 with the Brunei Investment Agency, serving in various leadership positions in Brunei and overseas, including London and Boston. Between 2014 and 2016, Awang Haji Khairuddin was appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources. In addition to primary roles, Awang Haji Khairuddin serves as a director on a number of GLC boards.
