Spectacular musical show by SMARTER Brunei students

SPECTATORS were wowed as they were taken down the magical rabbit hole during the staging of the ‘Looking through the Autism Wonderland’ musical at the International Convention Centre, Berakas last night.

The guest of honour was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and spouse.

Over 100 students from Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei, family members and staff performed the adaption of the classic Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland as part of raising awareness on autism in the country through creative arts.

Produced by SMARTER Brunei Musical Artistic Director Low Kok Wai, who is the Director of Asia Pacific Bureau Theatre Schools, in collaboration with team ALICE (Appreciating the Lives of Individuals with Autism and Celebrating their Excellence) from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD)’s Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah

Institute of Health Sciences (PAPRSB IHS), the concert aimed at raising funds to keep the centre sustainable and raise awareness on autism.

It also provided opportunity for SMARTER Brunei students to showcase their strengths, talents and abilities.
